Dawn Beach

Dawn beach is located near the oyster pond marina close to the French border and we accessed the beach through the Westin Hotel. Dawn beach was only recently developed when the hotel went up. It's a beautiful beach and some of the best snorkelling we have seen on the island.

The water was super clear, Krysten spotted a huge conch shell while snorkelling. Monty grabbed it for her. Have you ever heard of a conch burger before? We hadn't either but a native to the island told us they are very good. I'll take his world for it, I'm not a huge seafood fan.

This is the mollusk we tried pulling out of the shell. It was stuck in there good, and took three days until it easily slipped out. People fry this part up, I can imagine it being very rubbery. Blah, no thank you, but we will take the beautiful shell. Our back porch stunk like the sea for a week.
