As we hit our two week mark, I feel as if we have been here for two months. Our surroundings are becoming more familiar and we have settled in quite nicely. The kids have adjusted well and although Krysten every now and then tells me she misses the snow, she is loving our beach and park days. Monty is enjoying school and is very committed to his study regime. He had his first pop quiz today in anatomy and feels pretty good about it:) We are very close to purchasing a little kia hatch back, although we have been fine walking around and getting rides from our new friends. There is no law in Statia as far as seat belts and car seats are concerned. I still forget at times and put one on and I've even taken it off once. Krysten and Eli think this is quite neat, and once I got over the initial shock of my kids not being strapped in, I am now able to relax, sort of. Today when we were driving to the beach and going about 50km it felt like 100km since you usually only go about 20-30km around town.
Eli is in heaven when Camille lets him 'help' her drive:)
A road we take on our way to the park and other views.
Our days have been filled with fun play dates, the beach and lots of walks. We are settling into a nice routine and life is good. We miss you all.

When your kids get back, they are going to hate driving in cars! It's convenient that my boys think there is no option. Hyrum asked Maxwell awhile ago "Maxwell, if you don't wear your seatbelt, will you get sick and die?"
ReplyDeleteYour kids look so cute! We love you guys and hope all is well. It sounds like a great adventure!
