The Weekend...

Saturday morning started with a tour of the island by our tour guide Bongo. We had a great time learning more about the island from a local and saw some beautiful points of interest which we will be sure to return to. Spear fishing is very popular on the island, and although I'm not up for it hopefully Monty will get into it and catch us some yummy dinner every now and then. Later while the kids napped Monty decided to go hike up the "Quill" which is the dormant volcano on the island. He saw some interesting little creatures along the path such as hermit crabs and got a great workout. We had dinner at the Beckett's saturday night with another family who is here for school.

Sunday morning was church, we got ready as usual and walked the ten minutes to the university where church is held. For those of you who don't know our Church is usually three hours long, but since there are a lot less members here we only meet for just over an hour. http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/sacrament-meeting
(My brother in law jokes that the church must be true here):) Yes, it is and although Krysten was a little frightened at first, she was probably wondering why we were sitting in desks; the spirit was strong and  we had a wonderful meeting. The primary met outside on the picnic tables and Sunday school was in the same classroom. What a blessing it has been to come to a small island with members, its like an instant family. We enjoyed dinner at another families house, they had a plethora of fruit trees on their property and we were fortunate enough to take some coconut and papaya home.
