Meet the Orton's!

We frequently get visitors to the island and each Sunday at church it's always fun to see and meet new people. Usually they are just there for the day because they are on a cruise, but occasionally we get visitors who stay for a couple weeks.
Then there are the Orton's, a family of seven from NY who bought a boat, called it Fezywig and are getting it ready to hit the sea. They have been here nine weeks. They are a super fun and talented family. We have been lucky enough to have them over to share some meals, swim in the pool and hear them sing. We even got to have a pizza night on their boat. We've had a blast getting to know their family, and wouldn't complain if they stayed another 9 weeks:) Check out their adventures on their blog here. www.fezywig.com

The dingy ride was a blast, Krysten was smiling from ear to ear the entire time, and Eli was grasping tight to my arm as we took he 5 minute dinghy ride out to the Orton's catamaran. At this point they were anchored in the Simpson Bay Lagoon.

(We went to our friends teenage mutant ninja turtle birthday party that morning, hence the green masks!)

Because every boat needs a TMNT captain, naturally!
Eli often asks if we can buy a boat.

Boats, a homemade hammock and dominos pizza!
Life doesn't get much better!

Eli and Krysten loved the trampoline on the front of the catamaran.

Good company, jokes, and dessert...

We had so much fun, and the kids talked about us living on a boat for weeks after. There is definitely something liberating and refreshing about being on a boat. I love being by the ocean, and have always found the water to be so calming. I'm not sure if I could ever be brave enough to live on a boat, but I definitely admire the Orton's adventurous characters. We hope to visit them one day in NY!
