Nettle Bay

Out of the 37 St. Maarten beaches we only have 5 left to visit. Im not including the 4 that are only accessible by boat;) Now that Monty's back to class, Ive brought along our friends to help us finish our list. A couple Saturdays ago we visited Nettle Bay, Lagoon side on the French side of the Island. We heard there was a play ground on the beach, which was exciting for the kids since the water was not nice enough to swim in. The two hotels that are situated on this beach are Hotel Mercure and Le Flamboyant. We were not really sure why people would choose to stay at these hotels, unless they were boaters, when there are a lot more beautiful spots on the island. We had a fun time though, and the kids loved the playground.

We made a quick stop off at Laylas before lunch. They have the best playground and little wading pool.

This is Nettle Bay on the Caribbean side, not a very popular beach as you can see. The water is too rough, and full of seaweed.
